Hmmm, i've missed a couple of days here. It's a good thing i don't do this for a living. Well, tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and most of us Americans have a lot to be thankful for. I hope we also remember those who don't have enough.
In the after-math of "911" and all the 'tough talk' that has followed, Congress went home, for the extended holidays, without funding the emergency training program, which trains firefighters, police, emt's etc. They also walked out without funding the election overhaul program, which includes new voting machines and training for poll workers. But, no need to worry, Congress focused on bills like Homeland Security, which shreds Constitutional guarantees and destroys privacy. They also helped out the insurance and pharmaceutical industries, so that we can pay our insurance premiums to some corporation, while the claims will be covered by our tax dollars, and drugs can be given without proper research, can cause untold numbers of deaths, yet no one can be held accountable.
And, the media pushes for war with Saddam, while our 'allies', the Saudis, fund terrorists. The media is no longer the "watchdog" of our rights, it has become the 'lapdog' of Wall Street.
Well, on a happier note, my grand nephews are here to say good morning, so i wish you All, the best of holiday cheer and good will.

Well, today being Sunday and NFL, i'll keep it short.
I was thinking about WW11 veterans, like my dad, and feeling like they'd been betrayed, and wondering if it would happen to Vietnam era veterans next, being we're the baby-boomer generation, and will therefore, put the greatest strain on America's health care system. Then, i begin to wonder if this war against the world is designed to elicit such a horrendous enemy response, as to take care of the baby-boomer generation health care problem, the entire world faces.
I can't help but believe we were given a window of opportunity, for a few short years, after WW11. My dad, who served in North Africa and Italy during WW11, (fighting his own Italian relatives), often told me of the euphoria toward the end of WW11 in Europe. My mom, who was born, raised, and lived in Europe, during WW11, remembers the high hopes of her generation, having survived the Great Depression and WW11. It seemed, almost everyone breathed a sigh of relief, at the end of the attrocities of right-wing fascism, and looked foreward, with great expectation, to a world of freedom and democratic reforms. And, for a few short years, the hope thrived.
But, then came communism, McCarthyism, and the CIA, and the world swung back to the right violently, until Berkley, the 1960s, JFK, RFK, MLK, etc.. With each swing, the right-wing learned and became more violently effective. Then they introduced the age of great deception, with Reagan and the Bushs. And, now, we face the greatest perils the Earth has ever known.
I blame the Rockefellers and their greedy ilk for the world's situation today, because it is power-brokers, like the Rockefellers and the Harrimans, who set world agendas. It is their policies which have brought us to our present circumstances. Their lapdogs, the Bushs and Clintons, and the neo-fascists like Giulianni, of the world, carry out orders, with great enthusiasm. But, they no more have the brains to set agendas, than Bush has brains enough to know that Afghanistan cannot be invaded by a fleet of war ships.
Anyway, enough thinking for today, its time for football.
