The longer the "Iraq issue" carries on, the more apparent it becomes, that the only ones pushing for war are the Bush Gang and the "corporate media". The Pope has spoken against the war, the Middle East opposes war, our allies oppose war, public opinion opposes war(without support of allies), celebrities oppose war, Vietnam and other veteran groups oppose war, even Bush's Joint Chiefs of Staff have asked Bush to slow down. It seems Bush is obsessed with getting Saddam.

I see GW's popularity slipping in the polls, anti-war sentiment growing, and, it seems, people are more concerned with the economy, than anything else. The latest White House logic tries to tie war with Iraq with improving the economy. There in lies the problem; because GW has to count on a quick victory, in order to see economic improvement!
What if the war drags on, or expands regionally or even globally? Any of these factors, and many more, could cause the collapse of an already shakey economy. If the war gets difficult, crude oil prices could be affected drastically. If oil goes to $40. per barrel, gasoline would cost about $2.50 per gallon. OK, some of you would say that sacrifices must be made, and people will just have to travel less. The problem with that logic is, heating oil prices would also increase, as would jet fuel, etc. Industry would pay a dear price, and America's economy would be trashed. Not to mention the human toll of such a senseless war of "revenge" and "greed". The only ones qwho will prosper from this war, will be oil investors and defense contractors, like the Bush and Cheney families; and plus their kids won't have to serve on the front lines.
