You know, it used to be, (about 20 years ago), that a poll was not considered accurate, (within 3%+ or -), unless over 3000 people were polled, and that was for a population of about 250 million Americans. Today, if you notice, most polls only interview around 1000 people, in America. How can they justify accuracy?
Anyway, i've been thinking about the political races, California's and the race for the Democratic candidate for president. It seems to me that the "establishment" is running scared. For the 1st time in over 3 decades, a possible outsider could win control of both California and the USA. I think the ground swell for Huffington scared the system into postponing the recall. And, with the failure of Kerry to beat Dean, the establishment has thrown in the war criminal, disguised as a war hero, Wesley Clark, to try to upset Dean's growing popularity. You see, the establishment realizes Bush has self-destructed.
Parcell's must have screwed with some "important" people, because the media is attacking him in orchestration. The media is making sure the "homo" word is attached to Bill Parcell. From Fox to ESPN, print media, etc., the Shockey remark has been spun and re-spun, but the point is clear. Somebody is out to get Parcell for something.
Anyway, back to Bush. Bush and the Republican heirarchy may have made a very critical mis-calculation, when they chose "The Big Apple", to hold the 2004 Republican Convention. Of course, that choice was made in the Republican "jubilation days" following "911", when Bush and the Republicans enjoyed overwhelming support among the population. Today, of course, we are mired down in Iraq, unemployment is up, the economy sucks, bin Laden and Hussein are still free, and New Yorkers recently learned that the White House screwed New Yorkers by lying to them about the lingering health hazards of "911".
The 2004 Republican Convention ought to be interesting, to say the least.
