Spain may prove to be the international testing ground for gov'ts. who supported America in the war on Iraq. Spain's so-called 'populist' conservative Aznar gov't. not only fell, but came crashing down, with the socialists sweeping the elections. This could cause a tital-wave, (riding on the same 'Don't paint a target on us!' slogan that swept Aznar's conservatives out of gov't.), that could do more than ripple throughout Europe, including England, and right accross the Atlantic about November. And, that is another instance of Bush's poor judgement. If you want to rid the world of a tyrant, there are better ways to go about it than 'painting a target' on your own nation's back. 1st, America has the international community-UN. And, for the right-wingers out there who don't like the UN, taxpayers pay 10's of BILLIONS of dollars to the CIA, (who, despite LAWS to the contrary, have been covertly toppling gov'ts. since its inception). No, there is no explaining why a president would put a bull's-eye on our nation's soil, when other options existed. Maybe it all relates to the 'dubbya' thing. Maybe GW should have shown up for more Guard meetings and taken some basic political science classes, or at least, read up on Alexander the Great and a few other 'successful' world conquerors, instead of focusing his political studies on losers, like the author of 'Mein Kampf'. The difference between the 2 is that while one pillaged and treated his conquered territories like slave camps and terrorized everyone, the other conquered, then brought prosperity to the masses, by building roads, schools, libraries, medical facilities, aquaducts and more freedom, not less, than the conquered peoples knew before, and keeping promises in a timely manner. In other words, Iraq should be built from the bottom up, not the top down. Start with basics, like safe drinking water. It is a disgrace that a year after the war, 1/4th of Iraqis still have no affordable access to clean drinking water. But, then, Bush's 'bush-league' talents were obvious, when the only untouched gov't. building left standing was seen to be the oil ministry. It didn't matter that some of civilization's oldest artifacts were looted from the national museum, or that radiation dumps were left unguarded even months after the war; no, only oil was important to the greedy uncouth members of the 'Bush-gang'!
Well, perhaps the Spanish elections will ring loud and clear across America, in November.
